A Trip To Taiwan
Listen to the groove on Saturday night, a live band performance in the midle of the night. Nice song BTW. A song with lots of melody. I still remember they are playing one song by Gun N Roses : Sweet Child of Mine. It's historic. When I came to Sabah, I remember of Labuan. That time I was in matriculation and my first time clubbing there. So, how can you compare Labuan & KK clubs with KL? I guess Labuan & KK clubs are more fun than KL. Live bands are favourite here rather than only deejay scratch the disk. Haha
Enjoy little moment with friends in Kota Kinabalu, thanks to Fifi that brought us here. She was very helpful. Ambik kamiorg dari airport, and bring me go to shopping and church. Fifi, thanks alot yah. :D Without you, I wouldn't get my Diadora sandals. We have fun tho at KK. Have our dinner at KK was never been so great than staying at the airport. Hahah
Here's three musketeers that were going to Taiwan. Yeahh! From left: Me, Mathew and Alister.
0610: Depart from Kota Kinabalu Int. Airport to Taoyuen Int. Airport. The journey took three and a half hours to reach there. Huhu. I hate long journey like this. Wish to have magic door like Doraemon. Hahaha
0930:We reach at Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan. I was amazed and can't believed than I'm in Taipei already. I was just like normal, except that their services in airport really like very nice. I GIVE THEM 5 STARS! yippie! The arrival was very nice. The airport staff was professional in their job. The whole toilet was very clean plus it comes with sensors. Not like the lame Kuching airport. Hahaha..
Welcome to Taiwan! :D :D :D
1030: Having breakfast at 7-Eleven. Nyummy sandwich with $35. We are so hungry at that time after a 3 and a half hours flight to Taipei. My butt like so cramp here and there.
1205: Take a bus to Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. The bus called Airbus ( not a plane of course) with a fare of $90 ( which is RM9). The journey took 1 hour and 10 minutes to reach Taipei, which is approximately 40km .
1300: Reach Taipei Hostel. I took a shower before leaving the hostel for a walk in Taipei. The Taipei 101 looks near so we decide to take a walk to that place. We were very excited! The picture above is the National Taipei University of Technology. We were passing by this building, so we drop by to take some shots.
We were guided by maps and internet. It is an adventure for us, give the feeling of a traveler. It is fun to go out like this. Although we lost somewhere, but at least we try. Dealing with tourist guide is of course an advantage, but we prefer to walk alone. Liverpool FC ROCKS!
This photo was taken at Dr. Sun Yat - Sen museum. "Dr Sun Yat-sen was a world-renowned revolutionary who devoted his entire life to overthrowing the Qing Dynasty and setting up the Republic of China. His achievements were recognised and admired not only by the local and overseas Chinese, but also by the global community. " ( quoted from the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Museum)
First day in Taipei end. But it was only the beginning. It was a long way journey to Taipei 101 on that day. We thought that it was not that far as seen from the hostel. Paduhal, it takes more than 10 stops of MRT station and a 1 hour journey. We lost on the way without any tour guide, just by referring the map. Didn't thought of buying a umbrella coz it was raining in the evening back in Taipei. It's like alomost everyday, said the hostel receptionist.
0800: Walking to Taipei Main Station. It's the central train staion like KL Sentral also. After filling our stomach with sandwiches, we headed to C.K.S Memorial Hall. DIRECTION: Take a MRT to C.K.S Memorial Hall from Taipei Main Station. If you are using a single journey ticket, it cost $20 to that station.
0900: The picture above is the C.K.S Memorial Hall. "Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is located in the heart of Taipei City. The area is 250,000 square meters and it is the attraction most visited by foreign tourists. " ( quoted from C.K.S Memorial Hall website)
The elders having their morning exercise with Tai Chi. If you doesn't know about Tai Chi, Tai Chi (english) or to be pronounce as Taijiquan. The meaning of Taijiquan was SUPREME ULTIMATE FIST. It is an internal Chinese Martial Art practiced for both its defense training and its health benefits. It is also typically practiced for a variety of other personal reasons: its hard and soft martial arts technique, demonstration competitions, and longevity. As a consequence, a multitude of training forms exist, both traditional and modern, which correspond to those aims.
Reach at one of the building near C.K.S Memorial Hall. It was National Concert Hall and National Theater World famous musicians (such as the great cello performer Yo Yo Ma and the great violinist Shao Lian Lin) and renowned playgroups have conducted performance here. (resources from here)
Young pretty Taiwanese girl. Cute right? I have 3 cute Taiwanese girl right now. Hahaha..Just joking. I asked a little favour to take picture for three of us. So in other help, I take the picture of the three of them too. :D :D They are having their dancing practice at the hall. I realise that most of the youngster in Taipei love to dance. They dance in the hall, the hallway. They bring their iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or whatsover that have phone jack and plug in to their loudspeaker and started to dance. I love to do that. It looks fun.
This is the C.K.S Memorial Hall. Inside is the Presidential Hall where a big statue of the founder of Taiwan was placed.
Forgot to show you. This is the two halls ( National Concert Hall and National Theater that I was telling you just now) . Taken from the C.K.S Memorial Hall.
1400: After change some cash at the money changer at Taiwan Bank, we get our lunch at Yutai Street. I've use Around $89 for the lunch coz I was so hungry at that time. The food was nice, with vege and fish plus with some seafood.. It's fresh and delicious! Nyum nyum
1500: After lunch time we headed Taipei 101 by MRT for only $20. Taipei 101, here I come!
